What is a good height for my wick above the cup ?

First, read your manufacturer's instructions.  Their recommendation is based on extensive experience, and is a great starting point.  If you don't have them, contact the manufacturer, to get a hard copy, or see if they have them available for download.

If you don't have a manufacturer's recommendation, start with measuring the distance between the top of the wick cup, and the boiler, in your firebox.  Set the wick height to be one half of this distance.
